Well let’s see. I am from Williamsburg, VA. I graduated from an illustrious HBCU, Norfolk State University, with a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science. I was a front-end web developer 👩🏽💻 web designer and graphic designer in Washington, DC for nine and a half years. I have over 15 years experience designing and developing websites for the U.S. Army, U.S. Census Bureau and a range of non governmental websites.
However, now I am head over heels in love with marketing, managing and doing 🆒 cool things for businesses on Instagram. I am also heavy into helping small businesses get more traffic to their websites, I have my background to thank for that. Having had an e-commerce business I was always trying to figure out how to get more people to my website. So that was where the marriage of Instagram + SEO took place.
In the past I had a really fun online leggings business Tights By Velma Canaday for almost 5 years. I also had a nutrition business [at the very same time] Cravin’Fit. I wrote 2 books on nutrition 21 Days Cravin’Fit and Melt Into Your Kick-Ass Body Food Diary .
Besides all of the passion projects, you can find me in the gym trying to keep my 6 pack abs intact. I like to dance 💃🏽 and enjoy myself. I want to have the best time I possibley can with this one life I’ve been given. I am very creative and colorful…personality included. On the opposite end I am extremely detailed oriented, meticulous and as goal driven as they come.
I competed in 🐸 Frogger game show on Peacock TV
What a wild ride I had in 2021. I got the opportunity to compete in a game show called Frogger. It’s the live version of the 80’s video game. I spent 6 weeks in Australia 🦘 competing for the chance to win $100,000. This experience was the most physically challenging thing I’ve ever had to do, but I also had a lot of fun. I currently reside in Dallas, TX. I am loving the idea of becoming location independent. I finally lived my #LaptopLifestyle goal. Summer of 2021 filming the tv show Frogger… I was working from essentially anywhere in the 🌎 world with only my laptop, cell phone, and iPad…Australia is 15 hours ahead of Dallas time and I still got the job done — mostly because I have an amazing team.
